At The Sixth Form at The Catholic High School Chester, you will benefit from a wide range of careers and employability activities, throughout the year, to prepare you for life beyond Sixth Form. 

You will have the opportunity to explore your aptitude for different careers throughout the year by using the Young Enterprise Online Learning Hub. Students are encouraged and supported in seeking and applying for work placements and internships in their chosen field. All students will have a careers interview and have a bespoke plan for their future. 

These include:

• Regular careers talks with guest speakers from industry.
• 1-2-1 advice about applying for apprenticeships and employment and the application process.
• Support in the development of your Personal Statements and CVs to help you stand out.
• Mock Interviews with professionals from a range of industries to hone your communication skills and provide you with experience of an interview process.
• Where timetable permits, we’ll support you to access work experience. For example, if you are interested in teaching or early years, you may be able to organise regular voluntary experience with local schools and nurseries.
• Your entrepreneurial and business skills can be developed through our Young Enterprise initiative.

Last year, 92% of our students secured their first choice University place. 

In recent years, Samanta went on to study International Relations at Queen Mary University of London and now works as Parliamentary assistant and researcher for a local MP. Amelia, Tim and Orla have all become successful doctors around the UK, whilst we have many former students who now serve as teachers and nurses in both secondary and primary sectors up and down the country.
